The High Priestess

This card is traditionally associated with intuition and the mysteries of the universe. 

Triangles are symbolic in many cultures and appear in nature representing threes. You see this in Christianity with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In math you have negative, zero and positive. Human pregnancy is divided into three trimesters. We’re familiar with the colloquialism mind, body, spirit. In Greek, the letter delta is symbolic of a doorway. We also see it in food charts, and academic theories.

For example, in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory, we learn that we must have our basic needs met at the base of the pyramid (triangle), before we can advance to our higher purposes at the very top of the pyramid. Have you ever noticed the similarities between this theory and the modern Western interpretation of the chakra system? With that in mind, what if Maslow is wrong? 

In this depiction, the triangle is upside down. What if we must begin by connecting to our highest purposes and trust that everything else will fall into place? What if we must first connect to our intuition ▷ then speak our truth into existence ▷ lead from the heart ▷ trust our gut ▷ passionately create from that space ▷ and know that whatever happens in the physical is only temporary.

In other words, what if we start with our connection to Source, God, the Universe, and co-create from a place of deep knowing. What if we trust that everything will work out the way it’s meant to? What if we enjoy the process? The alternative is that only a few lucky people will every reach enlightenment (self-actualization). And that’s poop. Let’s turn this on its head and start with enlightenment, and just see what happens...
